One day I was just sitting, pondering and wondering what type of world my two boys would be growing up in. All through history the plights of societies have stayed pretty much the same in the grand scheme of things, yet it still feels like we should take notice and, more importantly, take action to make life on this planet a better place. Ultimately the world will change for good when Christ reclaims this world we live in... but until then, the burden is on each one of us to do our part.

Beggars reaching out their arms
Stoic faces pass them by
Dirty signs of “work for food”
while tinted windows hide our lie

Dust and grime of urban plight
Babies cry in hungry wails
Corporate bosses dine on wine
while day traders make all their precious sales

Time has come, time has gone
A brave, new world is born
         This generation stands in pride
Three short minutes to the storm

A heavy burden comes our way
Breaking chains of lust and greed
When the rage of nature fights again
we must battle for those in need

Take up your armor one and all
The storm is on us, change must come
The future now is in our hands
while we repair the damage done

Time has come, time has gone
A brave, new world is born
         This generation stands in pride
Three short minutes to the storm
