Christianity, by its very nature, should be a simple thing. Jesus Christ died for the sins of mankind and rose again to triumph over death because He loved His creation that much. Believe and accept this fact and you are forever saved. So why is it there have been so, so many variations of this truth? Because man, in his superficial and selfish ways, always complicates the simple things. For those that truly believe, God has promised eternal life with Him. For the moment, however, He has allowed satan a short season of having his way with the world. God is still in control…but He allows things to happen in a natural course of causes and effects so that we can have a free will to choose Him rather than just be his puppets. Unfortunately there are many Christians deluding themselves that, once saved, they are immune to the ways of this world. This just isn’t so and it isn’t the way God has designed it. It is because of these trials and temptations that we find ourselves relying on Christ and find our relationship with Him all the more richer.
